OUR ENTRANCE IN EMISSION TESTING
In response to RA 8749, the Philippine Government, through the Department of Transportation and Communication – Land Transportation Office (DOTC – LTO) developed a mandatory practice that would secure the implementation of the said law. As such, all vehicles are required to undergo emission testing to guarantee motor vehicle owner’s compliance of the internationally accepted emission standards.
After negotiating, the CleanAir Express project has been awarded to us, Eurolink Network International Corporation (ENIC) under the authorization issued by both the DOTC and LTO. This event lead became the catalyst of our entrance to the emission testing industry.
OUR BEGINNING: THE PH CLEAN AIR ACT
In 1999, 5 million Filipinos petitioned the Philippine government to pass Republic Act 8749 (RA 8749) or the Philippine Clean Air Act. The landmark legislation established ambient air quality guidelines and emissions standards, banned smoking in public buildings, and mandated that all motor vehicles undergo emission testing at least once a year.
Following the implementation of this act, several government institutions including local government units formulated and implemented their own set of protocols and guidelines to adhere with the mandate in mitigating air pollution.
